They are easy to use and deploy quickly.

Q. What is the Hi-View tripod?

A. The Hi-View tripod is man-portable field mast designed for rapid deployment.

It is perfect for situations where time and space are at a minimum.

It is a manual push-up mast.

Q. What is the VISTA Telescopic Mast?

A. The VISTA telescopic mast is usually vehicle-mounted.  It can be either 12V motorized or crank-up with a self-locking winch.

Q. How does the VISTA telescoping mast extend?

A. The VISTA mast works on an electro-mechanical cable and pulley system.

Compressor and hand pumps are not needed.

The VISTA mast can be either 12V motorized or manual crank up.

The motorized mast is electro-mechanically extended with a 12V electric motor powered by a rechargeable booster battery or auxiliary power supply.  No compressor or hand-pump is needed.

The crank-up model is extended by turning the handle on a mechanical winch.  When the handle is released, sections self-lock into position automatically.

Q. What is ground-based elevated/aerial photography?

A. This is imaging from bird’s eye perspective of a site or object.  It is an excellent and economical alternative to aerial photography from planes and helicopters.  You have plenty of time to compose and capture your image.

Q. How does elevated photography work?

A. To take amazing elevated photos you will need any of our tripods or masts, with our motorized pan/tilt head.  You will provide the laptop and camera.

The laptop will serve as your control center and you will be able to preview the live image on the laptop monitor.

Q. Is there a business opportunity in elevated photography?

A. During the last 20 years we have sold countless Systems to individuals and companies to compliment their start-up or already existing photography business.

The system diversifies an existing business by adding a unique new service.  It also attracts new business and the new service ensures the business “stands above the competition”.

It also provides individuals who are considering a career change with the opportunity to start heir own home-based business in aerial photography.

We have identified over 100 applications where elevated photography would be beneficial.  To name only a few:

  • real estate including residential, commercial and retail
  • 360 degree panoramic images and virtual reality tours
  • special events
  • any product that would benefit from a bird’s eye view, for example landscaping and swimming pool companies
  • documenting archaeological sites
  • traffic monitoring
  • aerial surveillance
  • wedding photography
  • sports photography and video
  • advertising for hotels, tourist sites, etc.
  • site surveys of bridges, building structures

……..plus many, many others

Q. Can the Hi-View and VISTA mast be used for elevated photography?

A. Yes, any of our masts and tripods can be used for photography. We have models to suit any budget.

Q. Which cameras can I use with the System for elevated photography?

A. Almost any digital camera can be used.  Contact us for more information.

Q. Why is the VISTA Telescoping Mast suited to field operations?

A. The VISTA is a mechanical mast that can be raised by a 12V motor or manually with a hand-crank. It is suited to field operations because as it can operate on a car battery and simple tools are required for the maintenance of the VISTA. The hand-crank requires no auxiliary power at all! This is a one - person operation.

Q. Can I stop the VISTA motorized mast before full extension is achieved?

A. Yes, the mast can be stopped at any point prior to full extension or contract simply by releasing the hand-held wireless control or in the case of the crank-up version, by releasing the handle.

Sections will automatically self-lock into position.

Q. What happens if I forget to release the VISTA wireless remote control? Will the sections overextend and fall out?

A. A safety stop ring and limit switch is installed which will shut the motor off when the telescoping mash reaches full extension.

Q. What happens if I forget to stop cranking the handle on the VISTA mast?  Will the sections overextend and fall out?

A. A safety stop ring is installed which will prevent the sections from telescoping further.

Q. Why are the internal keyways an important feature of the VISTA mast?

A. All mast sections are fully keyed. The keyways ensure that the sections do not rotate one within each other.  This  becomes very important for photography, video and elevated testing where precise imaging and measurements are required. The keyways maintain rigid azimuth locking.

Q. What is the advantage of having “internal” keyways on the VISTA mast?

A. Internal keyways are not exposed to dirt and dust.  This makes the mast a very low maintenance unit.

Q. The VISTA is a fully self-locking mast.  What does this mean?

A. The features of a self-locking mast are:

    • mast sections self-lock automatically during extension and contraction when the wireless remote or the crank-handle is released
    • you do not have to manually lock each section as it extends.  All Luksa sections extend simultaneously for extra strength.
    • the internal keyways keep the section locked vertically at all times to prevent any rotation of tube within tube.

Q. How is the VISTA mast shipped to the customer?

A. Luksa ships the VISTA in a custom made wooden crate. Our forwarder provides international door-to-door shipping with complete brokerage services.  Shipping time is usually 3-5 days.

Q. Do I need to assemble the mast or tripod when I get on jobsite?

A. Time-consuming assembly or disassembly of Luksa equipment is not required.

Everything comes pre-assembled and ready to use.

Luksa equipment takes minimal time to setup, there is no need to waste time assembling anywhere.

Q. Can the Hi-View tripod legs be adjusted to level?

A. All three and four legged tripods have adjustable legs that allow for level set-up on uneven terrain.
